Islam means "submission to God in peace". Islam teaches there is only One God, whose primary name is "Allah" in the Arabic language. Islam is the same essential message given to all the prophets, from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and finally to the Last Prophet, Muhammad, (peace be upon them all). They all proclaimed the same basic Divine message: worship only God, stop worshipping human beings and other created things There's a different between Islam and Muslims!! What's the purpose of life? What Do You Know About Islam? Not what you have heard about Islam, not what you have seen in the actions of some Muslims, but what do you really know about Islam?

(ღ♥ღ Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him) Muhammad's Banishing the Jews from Al-Madienah

Refuting Misconceptions

But why did Muhammad ((peace be upon him)) banish the Jews from Madienah?? Is not this also a kind of Religious oppression.?

Nice you have said "banishing the Jews"! because this is what really happened. Muhammad(PBUH) banished the Jews from Madienah instead of applying the rules of the Quran or that of the Old Testament "Al Taurah" upon them ; he (PBUH) didn't kill them because of "treason" .Raising of this event is for the behalf of Muslims ,if this case was presented under the Man-Made laws that are applied in any country, then the judgment would have been severe, hard and also a shame: They would have been convicted with "high treason". And proofing conspiration with enemies against the country deserves the penalty of execution!. Jews were a part of the Islamic society living in Madienah, where they used to live with Muslims as one family, the prophet (PBUH) gave them all rights of citizenship just the same given to every Muslim. He did not kick them out, or burned them, or seized their properties as the church's Popes or the European Kings did. Beside this, the Prophet (PBUH) held with them a protection and safety convention, in which both parties (Muslims & Jews) were obliged to protect each other in case any harm or danger menaced them. But the Jews contacted secretly the enemies of the Prophet (PBUH) and provoked them to fight against him, and offered them all forms of support. Here we get surprised by a very ridiculous and strange attitude, when we realize that the Jews denied their religion- that contains the idea of unification and orders to fight polytheism and paganism exactly like ISLAM- when the polytheists of Makkah asked them about the Religion of Muhammad (PBUH); they said that their religion (that of The polytheists) is better than that of Muhammad (PBUH)!!!By this reply the Jews preferred to worship the statues than believing in ALLAH the UNIQUE the ONE!!!This answer alone is enough to describe them as being betrayals and disbelievers!!While the prophet (PBUH) was visiting them, their leaders thought and said :"you would never find the Prophet in such a condition - suitable for killing him; as being among a little number of men(his companions)- Isn't there a man among you to go on the roof of that house in order to throw a big stone on him?!"An ugly intrigue that trampled on all ethical values. Where is the faith of keeping promises? Where is value of welcoming the guests? Where is respect for the neighborhood? They wanted to make out of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) another Jesus. But the same way as Allah have protected Jesus from being crucified, HE protected HIS prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from being killed.. I'll here represent a comment said by a man that no one from the Jews doubt about his faith and trust. He is the Jewish professor " Israel Wilfinson", where in his book:" The Jews' History In the Arab World" ,page 123 he says: "The think that causes pain to any believer either he is a Jew or a Muslim is that conversation held between some Jews and the polytheists of Quraish, where those Jews preferred Quraish's religion on that of the leader of the ISLAMIC MESSAGE."Then he says: " Normally wars allow nations to use all means of ruses, lies, tricks and misinforming to defeat the enemies, but those Jews had no right to get involved in such a raffish mistake, and never announce in front of Quraish's leaders that their religion "in worshipping status) is better than the ISLAMIC UNIFICATION. Because the Jews were holding the banner of MONOTHEISM in the world for centuries against polytheism in the name of their old fathers. In addition to that, they faced uncountable catastrophes like killing, kicking out, expropriations, torturing, and oppressing because of their faith in ONE GOD during different eras (ages) in history….their duty was to sacrifice their lives to desert the polytheists. But Instead of that they took the side of the disbelievers and so they offended themselves before offending others, and showed themselves in a way that made even friends repulse from them…

Why did Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Fight?

Thomas Carlyle, a devout Christian, answers this question in a way that refutes the allegation that Islam spread
by sword.

“In 622 AD, the intention of this Prophet was to spread his religion (Islam) through wisdom and fair admonition. He did his best to achieve this but the wrongdoers and disbelievers did not only reject his mission and call for the right path, but only tried to silence him by all means: threat, menace, and oppression lest his mission should spread. All this justified his defending himself and his mission in the face of Quraish.
“I believe that right spreads in any way as per circumstances: hasn’t Christianity resorted to sword sometimes”? Charlemagne did enough with Saxons. I do not care if right spreads by sword, tongue, or any other means. Let facts spread their power through oratory, press, or through fire; let facts struggle with all its might for it will never be beaten except for those facts that deserve to perish.
“Let us put the question in other words: Mohammad fought his enemies and resisted those who fought him, but why did Moslems fight outside their homelands? They fought against the Persians and Romans in big battles. Now, does not this prove that Islam is inclined to violence and spreads by sword?
“The person who asks this question does not know that the mission of Islam is a global mission from its first day. It is not like the missions of the previous prophets and messengers such as Jesus Christ – peace be upon him- who tells his Disciples: ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." (John 15:24) And again he stresses this point: “"Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.” (John 10:5) And in the Bible of Mark the idea is reiterated: “Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an evil spirit came and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
“As for Islam, its mission is universal. Allah – SWT – says in the Holy Qur’an: “And in no way have We sent you except as a constant bearer of good tidings and a constant warner to the whole of mankind.” (Sheba 28) and “And in no way have We sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.” (The Prophets 107)
“So the proposition that Persians and Romans are not included in the Islamic mission contradicts the Divine wisdom in sending his Prophet and does not match the broad meaning of Allah’s mercy that embraces all creatures.
“Another question rises here: wasn’t it more suitable to present this mission through understanding instead of fighting?
“This really happened. The Prophet – peace be upon him- send his emissaries who had the highest levels of understanding, maturity, and commitment to truthfulness in conveying his messages. Among these were Abdullah bin Hudhafa As-Sahmi who was sent to Khosrau, the King of the Persians. The Prophet wrote him: "(This letter is) from Muhammad the slave of Allah and His Prophet to Khosrau the ruler of Persia. Peace be upon him, who follows the right path and witnesses that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah. Furthermore I invite you to the call of Allah – the Great and Almighty- for I am the Prophet of Allah to all mankind to warn whomever is living and that the Saying may come true against the disbelievers. If you become a Muslim you will be safe and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your Persians.’
Upon reading the letter Khosrau went mad and tore the letter into pieces. He wrote to the ruler of Yemen: “I heard that a man from Quraish appeared in Mecca and claimed to be a prophet. Go to him and ask him to repent. Otherwise, kill him and send me his head.” He ended his letter: “Dare he to write me in this way while he is my slave?”
Consequently, the ruler of Yemen, sent two knights along with the letter of Khosrau and told him: “Khosrau ordered King Bazan to send someone to bring you. If you refuse, you and your people will die and your land will be destroyed.”
“So, who declared war? Khosrau did.
“As for Caesar the Prophet – peace be upon him- sent Dihya Al Kalbi. Caesar was wiser than Khosrau because he was familiar with the Scriptural knowledge (Torah and Gospel) that mentioned the approach of the appearance of Prophet Muhammad – peace be upon him.
History tells us that upon receiving the Prophet’s letter Caesar searched about some Meccans to inquire about the sender of the letter. He found Abu Sufyan- the biggest enemy of the Prophet at the time – along with a group of merchants with him.
He called for his translator who, translating Caesar’s question said to them, "Who amongst you is closely related to that man who claims to be a Prophet?" Abu Sufyan replied, "I am the nearest relative to him (amongst the group)."
Caesar said, "Bring him (Abu Sufyan) close to me and make his companions stand behind him." Abu Sufyan added, Caesar told his translator to tell my companions that he wanted to put some questions to me regarding that man (The Prophet) and that if I told a lie they (my companions) should contradict me." Abu Sufyan added, "By Allah! Had I not been afraid of my companions labeling me a liar, I would not have spoken the truth about the Prophet.
Once Abu Sufyan answered all Caesar’s questions about Muhammad, Caesar said: “I asked you about his family and your reply was that he belonged to a very noble family. In fact all the Apostles come from noble families amongst their respective peoples. I questioned you whether anybody else amongst you claimed such a thing, your reply was in the negative. If the answer had been in the affirmative, I would have thought that this man was following the previous man's statement. Then I asked you whether anyone of his ancestors was a king. Your reply was in the negative, and if it had been in the affirmative, I would have thought that this man wanted to take back his ancestral kingdom.
I further asked whether he was ever accused of telling lies before he said what he said, and your reply was in the negative. So I wondered how a person who does not tell a lie about others could ever tell a lie about Allah. I then asked you whether the rich people followed him or the poor. You replied that it was the poor who followed him. And in fact all the Prophets have been followed by this very class of people.
Then I asked you whether his followers were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing, and in fact this is the way of true faith, till it is complete in all respects. I further asked you whether there was anybody, who, after embracing his religion, became displeased and discarded his religion. Your reply was in the negative, and in fact this is (the sign of) true faith, when its delight enters the hearts and mixes with them completely. I asked you whether he had ever betrayed.
You replied in the negative and likewise the Apostles never betray. Then I asked you what he ordered you to do. You replied that he ordered you to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship any thing along with Him and forbade you to worship idols and ordered you to pray, to speak the truth and to be chaste. If what you have said is true, he will very soon occupy this place underneath my feet and I knew it (from the scriptures) that he was going to appear but I did not know that he would be from you, and if I could reach him definitely, I would go immediately to meet him and if I were with him, I would certainly wash his feet.' Caesar then asked for the letter addressed by Allah's Prophet, which was delivered by Dihya to the Governor of Busra, who forwarded it to Caesar to read. The contents of the letter were as follows: "In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful (This letter is) from Muhammad the slave of Allah and His Prophet to Caesar the ruler of Byzantine. Peace be upon him, who follows the right path. Furthermore I invite you to Islam, and if you become a Muslim you will be safe, and Allah will double your reward, and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your Arisiyin (peasants). (And I recite to you Allah's Statement :('O people of the scripture! Come to a word common to you and us that we worship none but Allah and that we associate nothing in worship with Him, and that none of us shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: Bear witness that we are Muslims (those who have surrendered to Allah).' (The Family of Imran 64).

A Message to who does not believe in Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)

Gary Miller

In 1977, Professor Gary Miller, the active Canadian preacher and mathematics and logic lecturer at Toronto University, decided to provide a great service to Christianity through exposing scientific and historical errors in the Noble Quran in such a way that would be beneficial to him and his fellow preachers in calling Muslims to Christianity. However, the result was completely to the contrary. Miller's writings were fair and his study and comments were positive, even better than many Muslims would write about the Noble Quran. He considered the Noble Quran, as it should be and reached the conclusion that it cannot be a work of a human being.

The first surprising issue for Professor Miller was the challenging tone in many ayahs1 such as the ayahs that can be translated as “Will they not then contemplate the Quran? And if it had been from (anywhere) other than the Providence of Allah, indeed they would have found in it many difference (s).” (TMQ2 4:82) and “And in case you are suspicious (Literally: in suspicion) about what We have been sending down upon Our bondman, (i.e., the prophet. A bondman or slave is the highest title conferred by Allah upon his chosen men) then come up with a surah of like (manner), and invoke your witnesses, apart from Allah, in case you are sincere.” (TMQ 2:23) Although Professor Miller was challenging at the beginning he ended astonished at what he found.

The following are some of the points he mentioned in Miller’s lecture The Amazing Quran3 :
There is no such author who writes a book and then challenges others that this book is errorless. As for the Noble Quran, it is the other way round. It tells the reader that there are no errors in it and then challenges all people to find any, if any.
The Noble Quran does not mention the hard events in Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH)4 personal life, such as the death of his dear wife Lady Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) , death of his daughters and sons. Strangely enough, the ayahs that were revealed as a comment on some of the setbacks proclaimed victory while those revealed at time of victory warned against arrogance and called for more sacrifices and efforts. If one writes his own autobiography, he would magnify the victories and justify the defeats. The Noble Quran did the opposite and this is consistent and logical: it was not a history of a specific period but rather a text that sets general rules for the relationship between Allah (the Almighty) and worshippers.

Miller thought about a particular ayah that can be translated as “Say, “Surely I admonish you with one (thing) only, that you rise up to Allah by twos and singly; thereafter meditate: in no way is there any madness in your Companion. Decidedly he is nothing except a constant warner to you, before (Literally: between the hands of) a strict torment.” (TMQ 34:46) He indicated the experiments one researcher had carried out at Toronto University on “Effectiveness of Collective Discussion”. The researcher had gathered different numbers of interlocutors in discussions and compared results. He discovered that the maximum efficiency of the discussion was achieved when the interlocutors were two while the more the number the less the efficiency.

There is a surah5 in the Noble Quran called Maryam (Mary) in which Lady Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) is eulogized in a way not even found in the Bible. At the same time, there is no surah in the name of Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) or Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). The name of prophet Isa (PBUH) (Jesus) is mentioned 25 times in the Noble Qur’an while the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is mentioned only five times.

Some attackers say that devils used to dictate to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) what to write in the Noble Quran. But the question is how could this be while it contains ayahs that can be translated as “And in no way have Ash-Shayatîn (The ever-Vicious (ones), i.e., the devils) been coming down with it; And in no way does it behoove them, And in no way are they able to do (that).” (TMQ 29:209-210) and “So when you read the Quran, then seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e., the Devil).” (TMQ 16:98)

If you were in the situation of the Prophet (PBUH) while he and Abu-Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) were inside the Cave of Hira’6 surrounded by the unbelievers who could have seen them if they had looked down. The human reaction would be to search for a back exit or some other way out or to shush in order not to be heard. However, the Prophet (PBUH) told Abu-Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) “Grieve not; surely Allah is with us.” (TMQ 9:40). This is not the mentality of a deceiver; it is the mentality of a prophet who has the confidence that Allah (the Almighty) would surely take care of him.

Surat al-Masad (Palm Fibres)7 was revealed ten years before the death of Abu-Lahab, the Prophet's (PBUH) uncle. He had ten complete years to prove that the Noble Quran was wrong. However, he did not believe or even pretend to believe. How could the Prophet (PBUH) be that confident unless he was sure that the Noble Quran was Allah’s (the Almighty) revelation?

Commenting on the ayah that can be translated as “That is of the tidings of the Unseen that We reveal to you; in no way did you (yourself) know it, neither your people, even before this. So (endure) patiently; surely the (fair) end is for the pious.” (TMQ: 11:49) Miller writes that none of the Scriptures uses this kind of style; that is, giving the reader the piece of information and then tells him it is new information. It is really a unique challenge. What if the people of Makkah, even by pretence, had said they knew that before? What if one scholar discovered later that this information was already known before? However, this did not happen.

Professor Miller mentioned what Contemporary Catholic Encyclopedia includes under the entry 'Quran'. It mentions that despite the plethora of studies, theories, and attempts to attack the veracity of Quranic revelation under many pretexts none of them can be logically adopted. The Church itself did not dare to adopt any of such theories but at the same time it did not admit the truthfulness of the Muslims' theory that the Noble Quran is, without doubt, the last heavenly revelation.

In fact, Professor Miller was fair enough and was honest enough to change his position and choose the right way. Blessed be he and those who search for truth and do not allow their prejudices to prevent them from reaching it.

Final Comment

In 1977, Professor Miller had a famous debate with Islamic preacher Ahmad Deedat. His logic was clear and his justifications seemed based on intent to reach the truth without pride or prejudice. Many wished at the time that this man would embrace Islam.

In 1978 Professor Miller embraced Islam and called himself Abdul-Ahad8 . He worked for some years at Oil and Minerals University in Saudi Arabia and then devoted his life to da'wa9 through TV programs and public lectures.

Just think and do not let your prejudices prevent you from the right path.

1-A verse in the Quran.
2- Translation of the Meaning of the Quran. This translation is for the realized meaning, so far, of the stated (Surah: Ayah) of the Quran. Reading the translated meaning of the Quran can never replace reading it in Arabic, the language in which it was revealed.
3- It is a small tract of about 25 pages but a very thick one indeed.

4- [All Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon him].
5- A chapter; the Qur’an is comprised of 114 surahs.
6- This was during the hejira to al-Madinah. The Cave of Hira' is in the Mount an-Nour. It is only two miles from Makkah, a small cave 4 yards long and 1.75 yard wide.
7- It can be translated as “Would the hands of Abu Lahab be cut up, (i.e., perish) and would he be cut up (too)! In no way did his wealth avail him, neither whatever he earned; He will roast at a flaming Fire, (Literally: fire comprising flame). And his wife, the constant bearer of firewood, Upon her (long) neck she will have a rope of palm-fibers.” (TMQ: 111:1-5)
8- This name literally means 'Worshipper of the Only One.'
9- Islamic call

(Refuting Misconceptions) Do Muslims Worship Kaaba ?

Islam came to preach the worship of Allah the Only One, and the abandon of worshipping whatever else "And they have taken to themselves gods, apart from Him, that create nothing and themselves are created and possess for themselves, neither harm nor profit; neither do they possess death, nor life, nor uprising. (i.e. resurrection)." (AL-Furqan: 3 )

Allah Says : "And in no way did We send (any) Messenger even before you except that We revealed to him, (saying), "There is no god except I; so worship Me." (Al Anbiya: 25 )

Ibrahim ( Peace be upon him ) admonished his father about worshipping idols saying : " And as Ibrahîm (Abraham) said to his father Éazar, "Do you take to yourself idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in evident error." (Al-Anaam : 74 ) ; " As he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which neither hears nor beholds, nor avails you anything? " (Maryam : 42 )

About those idols and stones that were worshipped Allah says: "Do they have legs with which they walk, or (even) do they have hands with which they assault, or (even) do they have eyes with which they behold, or (even) do they have ears with which they hear? Say, "Invoke your associates, thereafter plot against me, (and) then do not respite me."

(AL-Araf : 195 )

The Prophet ( Peace be upon him) was asked : " What is the greatest sin ? " , he answered " to make peers to Allah although He created you ".

The first thing The Prophet (Peace be upon him) made after his victorious return to Makka was breaking all the idols in and around Kaaba while uttering the verses " And say, "The Truth has come and untruth has expired; surely the untruth has been certain to expire."

(AL-Isra : 81 ).

After all this; how could any one assume that Muslims worship Kaaba??

The Kaaba is just a Qiblah for Muslims to direct their faces towards it during prayers as a form of target unification. They visit it, circumambulate around it submitting to the orders of Allah. Definitely they know that its just stones that have no good and no harm in themselves; but as Muslims they have to submit to Allah's orders even if they can't reason the wisdom behind that.

This is the right time to know Muhammad ((peace be upon him))

( The Polygyny of the Prophet )

The insulters of Islam said that ( Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him );

- Married his adopted son’s x-wife (his adopted son's name is Zaid Ibn Haretha).
- Allowed himself to marry any woman dedicate herself to him (i.e. he is sensual).

Refuting this Suspicion

1-It is well proved from the biography of Muhammad ( peace be upon him ) that he has never married before being 25 years , although marrying in an early age was from the conventions of the Pre-Islamic era for the sake of getting many sons, as they would support and boost the tribe . It is also known that he was a pure and moral person and did not seek for illegal passion, even though there were in the same community many adulteresses making their houses the residence of vice with banners on the top to show the way for the forbidden enjoyment seekers.
In spite of all these circumstances that made deviation and fornication easy in Makkah, he was never known except for purity and virtue. Allah's eye was saving him from the devil's plot.
Once his young mates took him to a place where there was forbidden enjoyment, Allah covered him with sleep and he didn't wake up till his mates awaked him to return back home.

2- When the Prophet was twenty-five years old he didn’t marry a virgin girl; he married a previously married woman who was fifteen years older than him. She had two sons who were closely twenty years old. She was Khadija (May Allah be pleased with her) and she was the one who chose to marry the Prophet after she knew how pure, chaste and honest he is when he was working for her as a trader.

3-The Prophet didn't marry any other woman until his wife Khadija died.
He spent his youth with her and all his kids were from her except Ibrahim who was from Maria the Coptic.

4- He lived his life after her death loving her, living with her memories and mentioning her good deeds because they were so special in his life especially for the success of his message.

He said about Khadija: "She believed in me when the people didn't and supported me with her money". He was thankfully mentioning her deeds all the time, fulfilling her memory and welcoming her friends, to the extend that made Aisha( his wife) feel very jealous about that.

But for his polygyny- like many other prophets- this was for many reasons:

He – may Allah's blessings be upon him – was more than fifty years old after the death of his wife Khadija; the age in which the fagot of lust or any sense instinct had been extinguished.
And on the other hand, the need to have someone who takes care of you and your kids increases…..

Here are the circumstances of these marriages:

The first wife was: Sauda daughter of Zam'a
After the death of Khadija – may Allah be pleased with her – the Prophet had great sadness in his house and among his companions – may Allah be pleased with them. They felt extremely sorry for him as he missed the woman who took great care of him and his kids. In addition to that he lost his uncle Abou-taleb; the most one supporting him and facing the polytheists .

And this year was called the year of sorrow.
In such a sad and lonely atmosphere the Prophet needed who can take care of him and his children. A Muslim woman came to him called Khaula daughter of Hakim Alselmyya and said: Oh! Allah's Prophet, I feel that you are lonely after the death of Khadija.
He answered: Yes, she was my children's mother and housewife. She said: Can I bring you a bride? He said with surprise: But who will be after Khadija? She mentioned Aisha daughter of Abou-bakr. He said: She is still young. She
(Khaula) said: engage her now and wait till she became mature.

He (PBUH) said: but who will serve for the house and my daughters? She said: Sauda daughter of Zam'a. He asked Sauda and her father and they accepted and get married in Makkah...They married in Ramadan, year10 after legation to become the prophets first wife after Khadija (may Allah be pleased with all of them).
The people of Makkah got astonished of that marriage as Sauda had neither beauty nor ancestral claims. She can't replace Khadija who was very beautiful, with ancestral claims and all people wanted her.
Here all insulters and offenders of Islam have to know: this is the first wife after Khadija. She was one of the believers who immigrated to Abyssinia with her husband to find a safe shelter from Quraish. The prophet married her after she returned from Abyssinia and lost her husband to protect her with her children.
So this marriage was not a result of a lust from the Prophet but relieving sake of a Muslim woman who was left without a man to take care of her and her sons.

The second wife after Khadija was Aisha daughter of Abou-bakr whom the Prophet said about:” he is the best guard over me in his money and companionship and if I would choose a friend I would take him but he is my brother in Islam .”
Abou-bakr was well known in supporting “Al Da’wa” with his money; the Prophet said about him that his money was the most useful for him.
And Aisha’s mother was Om-Roman daughter of Amer Al-kenany, she was from the lofty companions. When she died the Prophet stepped down into her grave and prayed: "Oh Allah! You know what have happened to Om-Roman for you and your prophet". He said about her in the day she died: "If anyone wants to see the gazelle black eyed (Hour) had to look to Om-Roman".
None ever in Makkah was surprised of the affinity between the two friends the Prophet and Abu Bakr, as it was very expected. For them it was a very normal marriage, and if there were anything to doubt about it they wouldn’t stop insulting it.

So the marriage between the Prophet and a girl younger than him by almost forty years is not an odd thing because it was familiar in that society.
But the Orientalists and the insulters of Islam accused him of being lustful. They insist on ignoring the fact that these kinds of marriages were familiar at that time in this era; some other examples we can see below:

1- Abdulmuttaleb; the grandfather of the Prophet (PBUH) married Hala the cousin of Amena (the mother of the Prophet, who married the youngest sons of Abdulmuttaleb).

2- Omar bin Al Khattab married the daughter of Ali bin Abi-Taleb while Omar was elder than her father.

3- Omar bin Al Khattab offered his daughter Hafsa for Abou-Bakr to marry her, while the age difference between them was the same between the Prophet and Aisha.

These were the habits of that society when the Prophet married Aisha. But the Orientalists and the insulters of Islam saw in this marriage a great event to offend both Islam and Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him ) – as they say – that the elderly man married the virgin young girl.

The third wife: Hafsa daughter of Omar the young widow:
She was the wife of Hanis bin Huthafa Al-sahmy, who was a lofty companion that immigrated to Abyssinia twice then to Madienah. He died after getting wounded in the battle of Ohud. His wife Hafsa became a widow in a very young age.
This made Omar her father very sad as her beauty was extinguishing day after a day. He searched for a groom for his daughter as he was a pitiful father and because this act was normal at that time in this society (to look for a husband for one’s daughter).
Such a feeling was the motive for Omar to speak to Abou-bakr who did not reply on Omar’s request. Then he went to Othman bin Affan who refused this offer too.
Omar felt very disappointed and went to the Prophet who said to Omar:” Hafsa will get married to the one who is better than Othman and Othman will marry who is better than Hafsa”.
Omar knew what the Prophet meant by this; that the Prophet himself will marry Hafsa and Othman will marry one of the Prophet's daughters. He ran to his daughter very happily and was satisfied that Allah had relieved the agony of his daughter.

The fourth wife: Om-Salamah daughter of Zad Al Rakeb:
She was one of the first immigrants to Abyssinia . Her husband (Abu-Salamah) Abdullah son of Abdulasad Almakhzomy was one of the first Prophet’s companions who immigrated to Madienah.
She is from a generous house. Her father was one of the bounteous of Quraish who was known as “ Zad Al Rakeb” (the one who supplies travellers with food) because no one ever travelled with him without getting supplied with food for his whole journy.
Her dead husband was a companion from Bani-Makhzom tribe; he was the cousin of the Prophet (the son of his father's sister). He immigrated twice to Abyssinia then to Madienah. They both ( Om Salamah & her husband) were from the very first people embracing Islam. They both immigrated to Madienah and witnessed severe events together with their child…May Allah be pleased with her…

The fifth wife: Zainab daughter of Jahsh:
"I have never seen a woman better in performing Islam, fearing Allah than Zainab. She was honest and faithful, loving of her relatives and giving charity; all for the sake of the Almighty Allah."
That was how Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) described her fellow wife Zainab daughter of Jahsh.
But the insulters of Islam said that Muhammad (peace be upon him) admired the wife of his adopted son "Zaid son of Haretha" and wanted to marry her after he made them got divorced!! This is of course nonsense and this marriage was for causes mentioned below:

Doctor Haykal replied in his book "The life of Muhammad" p.29 saying: It is either the lust of the exposed evangelization or the evangelization for the science, and the old antagonism against Islam originated deeply since the crucifixion wars made them write that.
We would like that those insulters pay attention to the reason of this marriage; the Prophet married the ex- wife of his son in adoption for wisdom from Allah in order to abolish the adoption habit. Such habit that counterfeits the facts had bad effects on the lives of people.
This habit had been originated in the pre-Islamic society, Allah chose his messenger to be the first for ending this habit.
Here are some verses from the Holy Quran to submit an announcement for that verdict opposing these pre-habits and explaining the new legislation for adoption in general :

"Muhammad isn't the father of any man among you, but he's the messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets." (Alahzab: 40)

"Proclaim their real parentage. That will be more equitable in the slight of Allah. If you don't know their fathers then they are your brethren and clients." (Alahzab: 5)

"And when you say to whom Allah has conferred favor and you have conferred favor; Keep your wife and fear Allah. And you didn't hide in the mind that Allah was to bring to light and fear mankind while Allah has a better right that you should fear him. So when Zayd had performed the formality of divorce from her, we gave her unto her in marriage. Therefore there is no sin on believers in respect to wives of their adopted sons, when the latter had performed the necessary formality of the release from them (females). The commandment of Allah must be fulfilled." (Alahzab: 37)

Again we remind here that the marriage of the Prophet from Zainab was not for a lust or a libido. It was an order from Allah to abolish the habit of adoption through a legislation in this society in which adoption is one of its principle habits. It couldn’t be abolished except through the Prophet and in his house.
Zainab daughter of Jahsh understood that and boasted her fellow wives and said: "Your families married you to the Prophet – May Allah's blessings and peace be upon him – while I got married to him by the order of Allah from above seven skies".
Zayed didn’t divorce Zainab beause he knew that the Prophet wanted to marry her- as those insulters say- but because their life was not based on a desired treaty which Zainab didn't forget. She was the noble well known and beautiful lady but got married to a man who was a slave for some of her family. He was also a slave for the Prophet (PBUH) who freed him after that in Makkah.
It is normal that he was the slave captivated man in his wife's eyes which was not her dream to marry such a man although he was well known as Zaid son of Muhammad in this society.
That made them both unhappy; so Zaid went complaining to the Prophet who ordered him to keep his wife and fear Allah. Narrated by Albukhary, Anas said: “if the Messenger wanted to marry Zainab, he would’t tell Zaid what he did; but it was the order from Allah not to hurry in divorcing her.
Zainab daughter of Jahsh was the cousin of the Prophet and he married her to his slave Zaid. If the Prophet wanted to marry her from the beginning, he would ask her for that.
If he wanted to marry her nothing would prevent him but he didn't.

It was the desire of Allah to announce a new legislation and verdict to cease the custom of adoption which was prevalent in this society.

“ And you didn't hide in the mind that Allah was to bring to light and fear mankind while Allah has a better right that you should fear him” ( Al Ahzab:37)
Because the Messenger tried to hide what Allah has told him that Zainab will be his wife one day. He didn't reveal that because he was afraid that people would say he married the wife of his adopted son.

The sixth wife: Juwairia daughter of Alhareth Alkhozaeia; a Jewish tribe:
The beautiful princess who none was more blessing on her family than her. The Prophet liberated hundred of Bani Almostaleq (her tribe) after marrying her.
She was captivated after that her tribe was defeated in their battle (Almostaleq). The one who captivated her asked for money to free her so she went to the Prophet to ask for help. The Prophet said: I’ll pay and marry you.

The news was spread among the Muslims that the Messenger married the daughter of Alhareth son of Dherar the leader of Bani Almostaleq.
So all the captives of Bani Almostaleq had become relatives-in-law to the Prophet (peace be upon him);
and had that’s why to be freed from their capture.
The marriage of the messenger from the captive woman, the daughter of the tribe’s master after she came to him supplicating was mercy on her first and second she was given the chance to become a Muslim.

She died at the age of 70 when the Muslims were ruled by Bani Omayyah.

The seventh wife : Safyyah daughter of Hoyay, the lady of Bani Alnadhir
She was one of the women captives after the defeat of the Jews (from Bani Alnadhir tribe) against the Muslims in the raid of Bani Alnadhir. The Prophet – PBUH –freed her and married her. That action taken by the Prophet shows his high morals and great ability to forgive especially those who embraced Islam and became good believers….

The eightth wife: Om-Habibah daughter of Abou-Sofyan; “the Prophet’s rescue for a Muslim woman in a crisis”:
She is Om-Habibah named “Ramlah”, the daughter of Abou-Sofyan – the greatest polytheist in Makkah and the strongest antagonism to Muhammad (peace be upon him).
She was the wife of Obaid-Allah son of Jahsh and they immigrated together as Muslims to Abyssinia . Abyssinia was the secure hideaway for Muslims escaping from the grip of the polytheists and their attack. Alnajashi the king of Abyssinia at that time, was taking care of them as he had a believing sense to welcome the fellows of the new Messenger who was preached by Jesus son of the virgin Mary – blessing are upon him from Allah. It was mentioned in the Quran :”And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: O children of Israel ! I am the apostle of Allah sent to you confirming the law which came before me, and giving glad tidings of an apostle who will come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.”(As Saf:6).

But Om-Habibah faced a severe crisis among the immigrants to Abyssinia , when her husband left Islam and denounced himself as a Christian. It was a double distress, the first was leaving her father behind in Mekkah because of his enmity to Islam, and second when her husband betrayed his religion compact and became a Christian. And in addition to all that was her loneliness in another land than her father land, and being pregnant with her daughter that she named “ Habibah” later on.
Such things could be more than the energy of a Muslim woman to bear alone; being examined in an angry father and an apostate husband.
But the eyes of Allah and then the eyes of the Prophet supported her and facilitated the difficulties of what she faced in her immigration to Abyssinia . She became the mother of all Believers after being the mother of Habibah as she got married to the leader of Muslims Muhammad Pease be upon him.
Alnajashi was the real supporter for all the immigrants in general and for Om Habibah especially when the Prophet sent a messenger from his side to ask him for Om Habibah’s hand.
This engagement was the big rescue to Om-Habibah to start a new life with our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This engagement was a big slap on the head of Abou-Sofyan who commented on this marriage: "This man can't be defeated" as the Prophet is having victory after victory over the disbelievers of Makkah lead by of Abou-Sofyan.

When Abou-Sofyan lastly became a Muslim and witnessed that no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, one of the companions told the Prophet that Abou-Sofyan likes to boast, and asked him to find a solution for his knot and his envy.
The Prophet – May Allah's blessings and peace be upon him – said in his historical announcement in Makkah:
Who ever enters my house will be secure.
Who ever enters the holy house (the Kaaba) will be secure.
Who ever enters the house of Abou-Sofyan will be secure.
Islam conquered, and the people entered the religion of Allah in crowds.
Om-Habibah or the mother of all believers was in great happiness by the victory of her husband and her father’s embracing of Islam.
This is Om-Habibah who was surrounded by the prophecy rescue to safe her from her sorrows and make her live the best life ever in the house of the Prophet (peace be upon him)….

The ninth wife: Maymouna daughter of Alhareth Alhelalyah; a widow who will be happy to get a husband
The last wife of the Prophet – May Allah's satisfaction be upon all his wives. Her husband Abou-Rahm son of Abdelozza Alaamiry died and her her brother-in-law Alabbas married her to the Prophet– May Allah's blessings and peace be upon him. The prophet
When she got the good omen of the engagement from the prophet, she jumped up of her donkey very happily to hear such news.
The Holy Quran mentioned this as she was the one who wanted to marry the Prophet: “And any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the prophet, if the prophet wishes to wed her. This is only for you and not for the believers.” ( Al Ahzab:50)

This was the Prophet’s last wife- may Allah’s blessing be upon them all

A Message to who does not believe in Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Why the Prophet honors a woman from the Children of Israel?

All praise be to Allah the Almighty, and peace be upon the Prophet Muhammad,,,

Let's suppose – for the purpose of argument only- that the enemies of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) were right in their allegations that the Holy Quran was written by him. In such case, the disbelievers will surely respond to our argument. Now, ask them: Do you doubt that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was an Arabic man?

Irrespective of their reply; yes or no, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) – under such argument – has informed them, in very sublime manner & words, that: Maryam – Mary – the mother of Jesus (Peace be upon them both), who belongs to Children of Israel (1), is chosen above the women of the world.

Why didn’t he choose his mother (i.e. the mother of the Prophet Mohammad – Peace be upon him), his wife, his daughter, or any other Arabic woman? Why did he choose a woman from the Children of Israel!!

Can anyone give any clarification to this? Everyone prefers his mother, wife and daughter more than other women.

So, why the Prophet of Islam – Peace be upon him – calls Muslims to respect a woman from the opponents or contestants?! Especially from the Children of Israel?! i.e. from the people who have disregarded his people (Muhammad’s people; the Arabs) for three thousand years; exactly like their disregard to their Arab brothers nowadays.

Chapter of Maryam (Mary)

There is a chapter (Sura) in the Holy Quran bearing the name of "Maryam" (Mary). The said Sura was called "Maryam" out of respect and honor to Maryam; the mother of Jesus Christ (Peace be upon them both). Maryam (Peace be upon her) did not get such honor even in the Bible itself. There are (66) sixty six scriptures for the Protestant and (73) seventy three scriptures for the Roman Catholic, but no single scripture wherefrom bears the name of Maryam and her son (Peace be upon them). You can find scriptures bearing the names of Mathew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul and plenty of scriptures bearing ambiguous names but no one attributed to the name Jesus or Maryam (Peace be upon them).

Therefore, If Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was the author of the Holy Quran, he may include, beside the name of Maryam; the mother of Jesus (Peace be upon them), the name of his mother "Amena", his dear wife "Khadija", "Aisha" or his daughter "Fatema", May Allah be pleased with them all.

However, this is not the truth, and the Prophet (Peace be upon him) did not do that because the Holy Quran is not written by Muhammad (Peace be upon him) .

The reply is as simple as the following: The Prophet was not having any options, he has no right to express his own wishes because Quran was revealed by Allah The Almighty who said: {It is not but a revelation revealed} (An-Najm:4).

(1) Maryam (Peace be upon her) was not Jew by religion. She was following the religion of her fathers; Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael) Ishaque (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob) and Zakariya (Zachariya) who were all worshipping Allah alone. She was an upright woman who had surrendered to Allah and was not of the polytheists. As for the nationality, she belongs to Israel i.e. Jacob, the Prophet of Allah – Peace be upon him. As for saying that she was Jew as per the religion of Jews in her era or saying that she was Christian; this is a groundless and incorrect statement .

The Prophet would never Deceive himself!?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Had the Holy Quran not been revealed by Allah (the Almighty) and had it been authored by Allah’s Messenger ((peace be upon him)), would he ((peace be upon him)) deceive himself? Would he jeopardize his life?

I will narrate this incident and you judge yourself.

Allah (the Almighty) said in the Holy Quran “O you Messenger, proclaim whatever has been sent down to you from your Lord; and in case you do not perform (that), then in no way have you proclaimed His Message; and Allah safeguards you from mankind. Surely Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.” This is one of the verses of the Holy Quran that was sent down to Allah’s Messenger (PBUH).

Narrating the circumstances in which such verse was revealed, our Mother Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:

The Prophet was vigilant one night and when he reached Medina , he said, "Would that a pious man from my companions guard me tonight!" Suddenly we heard the clatter of arms. He said, "Who is that?" They (The new comers) replied, "We are Sad and Hothaifa and we have come to guard you." So, the Prophet slept (that night). Then this verse came down, so Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) looked out of the house and said: “O people, leave now for Allah (the Almighty) had prevented me”. Narrated by Al Qurtubi.

A Belgium scholar had been studying the biography of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) until she reached this point, where she stopped and said: “If that man was deceiving all the people he wouldn’t deceive himself and had he not been sure that Allah (the Almighty) is protecting him he wouldn’t have done so (dismissing the guards) such experiment which proves his trust in his Creator. Hence I say with utmost belief: There’s no God But Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger.

The biography of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) has lots of evidences and miracles that prove that what he came with is sent down from Allah (the Almighty).

What should you do now?

Reading the biography of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) (that was written 1400 years ago), hearing his hadiths and following his deeds.

Comparing the ideas that he calls for with the logic that the sound mind accepts.

Having accepted his logic, observe his deeds and note if there is any discrepancy between both his words and deeds.

If there was no discrepancy, then all you have to do is to believe him.

Cat Stevens and His Journey to Islam

Before you read this : Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) used to be one of the most famous POP singers in England in the 70th till he decided to be a Muslim and Alhamdulillah he found the light of Allah!

All I have to say is all what you know already, to confirm what you already know, the message of the Prophet ( peace be upon him ) as given by God - the Religion of Truth. As human beings we are given a consciousness and a duty that has placed us at the top of creation.

Man is created to be God's deputy on earth, and it is important to realize the obligation to rid ourselves of all illusions and to make our lives a

preparation for the next life. Anybody who misses this chance is not likely to be given another, to be brought back again and again, because it says in Qur'an Majeed that when man is brought to account, he will say, "O Lord, send us back and give us another chance." The Lord will say, "If I send you back you will do the same."

My early religious upbringing
I was brought up in the modern world of all the luxury and the high life of show business. I was born in a Christian home, but we know that every child is born in his original nature - it is only his parents that turn him to this or that religion.

I was given this religion (Christianity) and thought this way. I was taught that God exists, but there was no direct contact with God, so we had to make contact with Him through Jesus - he was in fact the door to God. This was more or less accepted by me, but I did not swallow it all.

I looked at some of the statues of Jesus; they were just stones with no life. And when they said that God is three, I was puzzled even more but could not argue. I more or less believed it, because I had to have respect for the faith of my parents.

Pop star

Gradually I became alienated from this religious upbringing. I started making music. I wanted to be a big star. All those things I saw in the films and on the media took hold of me, and perhaps I thought this was my God, the goal of making money. I had an uncle who had a beautiful car. "Well," I said, "he has it made. He has a lot of money." The people around
me influenced me to think that this was it; this world was their God.

I decided then that this was the life for me; to make a lot of money, have a 'great life.' Now my examples were the pop stars. I started making songs, but deep down I had a feeling for humanity, a feeling that if I be-came rich I would help the needy. (It says in the Qur'an, we make a prom-ise, but when we make something, we want to hold onto it and become greedy.)

So what happened was that I became very famous. I was still a teenager, my name and photo were splashed in all the media. They made me larger than life, so I wanted to live larger than life and the only way to do that was to be intoxicated (with liquor and drugs).

In hospital

After a year of financial success and 'high' living, I became very ill, con-tracted TB and had to be hospitalized. It was then that I started to think: What was to happen to me? Was I just a body, and my goal in life was merely to satisfy this body? I realized now that this calamity was a bless-ing given to me by Allah, a chance to open my eyes - "Why am I here? Why am I in bed?" - and I started looking for some of the answers.

At that time there was great interest in the Eastern mysticism. I began reading, and the first thing I began to become aware of was death, and that the soul moves on; it does not stop. I felt I was taking the road to bliss and high accomplishment. I started meditating and even became a vegetarian. I now believed in 'peace and flower power,' and this was the general trend. But what I did believe in particular was that I was not just a body. This awareness came to me at the hospital.

One day when I was walking and I was caught in the rain, I began running to the shelter and then I realized, 'Wait a minute, my body is getting wet, my body is telling me I am getting wet.' This made me think of a saying that the body is like a donkey, and it has to be trained where it has to go. Otherwise, the donkey will lead you where it wants to go.

Then I realized I had a will, a God-given gift: follow the will of God. I was fascinated by the new terminology I was learning in the Eastern religion. By now I was fed up with Christianity. I started making music again and this time I started reflecting my own thoughts. I remember the lyric of one of my songs. It goes like this: "I wish I knew, I wish I knew what makes the Heaven, what makes the Hell. Do I get to know You in my bed or some dusty cell while others reach the big hotel?" and I knew I was on the Path.

I also wrote another song, "The Way to Find God Out." I became even more famous in the world of music. I really had a difficult time because I was getting rich and famous, and at the same time, I was sincerely searching for the Truth. Then I came to a stage where I decided that Buddhism is all right and noble, but I was not ready to leave the world. I was too attached to the world and was not prepared to become a monk and to isolate myself from society. I tried Zen and Ching, numerology, tarot cards and astrology. I tried to look back into the Bible and could not find anything. At this time I did not know anything about Islam, and then, what I regarded as a miracle occurred.

My brother had visited the mosque in Jerusalem and was greatly im-pressed that while on the one hand it throbbed with life (unlike the churches and synagogues which were empty), on the other hand, an at-mosphere of peace and tranquillity prevailed.

The Qur'an

When he came to London he brought back a translation of the Qur'an, which he gave to me. He did not become a Muslim, but he felt something in this religion, and thought I might find something in it also.

And when I received the book, a guidance that would explain everything to me - who I was; what was the purpose of life; what was the reality and what would be the reality; and where I came from - I realized that this was the true religion; religion not in the sense the West understands it, not the type for only your old age.

In the West, whoever wishes to embrace a religion and make it his only way of life is deemed a fanatic. I was not a fanatic, I was at first confused between the body and the soul. Then I realized that the body and soul are not apart and you don't have to go to the mountain to be religious. We must follow the will of God. Then we can rise higher than the angels. The first thing I wanted to do now was to be a Muslim.

I realized that everything belongs to God, that slumber does not overtake Him. He created everything. At this point I began to lose the pride in me, because hereto I had thought the reason I was here was because of my own greatness. But I realized that I did not create myself, and the whole purpose of my being here was to submit to the teaching that has been perfected by the religion we know as Al-Islam. At this point I started dis-covering my faith. I felt I was a Muslim.

On reading the Qur'an, I now realized that all the Prophets sent by God brought the same message. Why then were the Jews and Christians dif-ferent? I know now how the Jews did not accept Jesus as the Messiah and that they had changed His Word. Even the Christians misunderstand God's Word and called Jesus the son of God. Everything made so much sense.

This is the beauty of the Qur'an; it asks you to reflect and reason, and not to worship the sun or moon but the One Who has created everything. The Qur'an asks man to reflect upon the sun and moon and God's creation in general. Do you realize how different the sun is from the moon? They are at varying distances from the earth, yet appear the same size to us; at times one seems to overlap the other.

Even when many of the astronauts go to space, they see the insignificant size of the earth and vastness of space. They become very religious, be-cause they have seen the Signs of Allah.

When I read the Qur'an further, it talked about prayer, kindness and char-ity. I was not a Muslim yet, but I felt that the only answer for me was the Qur'an, and God had sent it to me, and I kept it a secret. But the Qur'an also speaks on different levels. I began to understand it on another level, where the Qur'an says, "Those who believe do not take disbelievers for friends and the believers are brothers." Thus at this point I wished to meet my Muslim brothers.

Then I decided to journey to Jerusalem (as my brother had done). At Jeru-salem, I went to the mosque and sat down. A man asked me what I wanted. I told him I was a Muslim. He asked what was my name. I told him, "Stevens." He was confused. I then joined the prayer, though not so successfully.

Back in London, I met a sister called Nafisa. I told her I wanted to embrace Islam and she directed me to the New Regent Mosque. This was in 1977, about one and a half years after I received the Qur'an. Now I realized that I must get rid of my pride, get rid of Iblis ( devil ), and face one direction. So on a Friday, after Jumma' prayer I went to the Imam and declared my faith at this hands. You have before you someone who had achieved fame and fortune.

But guidance was something that eluded me, no matter how hard I tried, until I was shown the Qur'an. Now I realize I can get in direct contact with God, unlike Christianity or any other religion. As one Hindu lady told me, "You don't understand the Hindus. We believe in one God; we use these objects (idols) to merely concentrate." What she was saying was that in order to reach God, one has to create associates, which are idols for the purpose. But Islam removes all these barriers. The only thing that moves the believers from the disbelievers is the salat ( prayer ). This is the process of purification.

Finally I wish to say that everything I do is for the pleasure of Allah and pray that you gain some inspirations from my experiences. Furthermore, I would like to stress that I did not come into contact with any Muslim be-fore I embraced Islam. I read the Qur'an first and realized that no person

is perfect. Islam is perfect, and if we imitate the conduct of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) we will be successful. May Allah give us guidance to follow the path of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ameen!

About Islam

Muslims constitute approximately one fifth of the world’s population, making Islam one of the largest religions. Belief in and worship of the One True God (Allah) is the purpose of life and cornerstone of Islam.

The Arabic word “Islam” literally means “submission” to the one true God (Allah) alone. Success is only attained in this life and the hereafter through Islam – the only religion accepted by God. Unlike some other religions, it is not named after a person or tribe. One who voluntarily surrenders their will to God is called a Muslim, who can be from any racial or ethnic background.

The 6 Aspects (Articles) of Belief

Allah is the personal name of the One True God.

1. Belief in Allah“Allah” is the unique Arabic name of The One True God, Who is the only One worthy of worship, with no rivals, equals or partners. Allah is not like His creation, as nothing shares His divine essence and attributes, including: The Creator, The Provider, The Most Merciful, The All-Powerful, The Most Just, The All-Wise and The All-Knowing.

Allah is without partner in His authority and actions. The world was created by Allah’s command alone, Who solely runs and controls it. Such a complex and balanced creation is not possible by any other than a superior being. It is therefore illogical to believe that the universe created itself, or was the result of random or coincidental events.

2. Belief in The Angels

Allah created angels from light, who never disobey His command. Details about some of the angels have been revealed, such as Gabriel, who delivers God’s message to the Prophets, and the Angel of Death, who takes the souls of people.
3. Belief in The Revealed BooksAllah revealed divine books to His Messengers as a guidance and mercy to mankind. These include the Torah and Gospel as originally revealed to Moses and Jesus respectively, and the Qur’an as revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Apart from the Qur’an, these revelations do not exist in their original form, as they have been distorted, changed or lost. Another miracle of the Qur’an is that it is free from any contradictions or errors.

The Qur’an is the literal word of God and the final revelation to all of mankind. Together with the authentic sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it is the primary source of Islamic knowledge.

4. Belief in The Prophets

Muslims believe that thousands of Prophets were sent by Allah, at least one to every nation, to convey God’s revelation. These Prophets include Adam, Noah, Abraham, David, Joseph, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Their mission was to return people to the worship of the One True God, to serve as practical examples of how to obey God, and to guide people to the path of salvation. Prophets do not share in any part of God’s divinity. As humans, it is forbidden to worship them or to use them as an intercessor to God. Any type of prayer or worship towards the Prophets, or to God through them, is strictly forbidden and considered a violation of God’s right to be worshipped alone.

- Prophet Jesus

Muslims believe that Jesus is an honourable prophet of God, born miraculously through his virgin mother Mary. He performed many miracles with the permission of God, such as healing the sick, curing the blind and speaking as a newborn defending his mother from accusations. Although Muslims respect and love Jesus, they do not worship him. He is not considered the son of God, nor part of a trinity, nor does he share in any of God’s perfect attributes.

God says:
“It is not befitting for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When he decrees an affair, He only says, ‘Be’ and it is.”Qur’an 19:35

- Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the final Prophet sent to all of mankind. He came with the Qur’an to demonstrate how its teachings should be applied, and is a perfect example of an honest, just, merciful, compassionate, truthful and brave human being. As with Jesus, Muslim do not worship Muhammad.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“Do not exceed bounds in praising me as the Christians praised Jesus, the Son of Mary. I am only God’s servant; so call me the Servant of God and His Messenger.”

5. Belief in The Day of Judgement

The Day of Judgment is an event when each person will stand before The Creator and be questioned about their good and bad deeds. Deeds will be shown in vivid detail, regardless of their size, and everyone will be judged accordingly.

On this momentous Day, Allah, the All-Just, will settle all matters fairly and no person will be wronged. Everyone’s rights will be returned. All will be treated justly, by either the reward of Paradise, or the punishment of the Hellfire. Without a Day of Judgement, life would be grossly unfair, as not everyone receives justice in this world.

6. Belief in Divine Destiny

Allah knows everything from the past, the present, and everything that will happen in the future. Allah has power over all things - nothing occurs without His knowledge and permission.

Every person has been given the free will to choose between right and wrong, and will be held to account accordingly. However, this excludes people unable to exercise their free will, such as the severely intellectually disabled.

Free will does not contradict the fact that events can only occur with God’s knowledge and permission. Nor does it mean that God’s power over everything prevents or restricts people’s free will. God’s knowledge of people’s decisions does not mean that they are being forced to make such decisions, and God is not necessarily pleased with everything that He allows to occur.

The 5 Pillars of Worship

The foundation of a Muslim’s life.

1. The Declaration of Faith

The declaration of faith is bearing witness there is no God worthy of worship but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger. It must be uttered verbally and based on a sincere and firm belief in the heart, followed by action. With this declaration, a person rejects all false deities, asserts that Allah is the only One worthy of worship, and accepts His messenger, hence becoming a Muslim.

2. The 5 Daily Prayers

The 5 daily prayers form the second pillar of Islam. Prayer establishes a personal and spiritual connection between the Muslim and their Creator, and is a constant and practical reminder of a person’s duty to surrender to God. They are prescribed once each at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and nightfall. Each prayer takes a few minutes to perform, consisting of recitation of the Qur’an, supplications, praising Allah, and various body postures. In preparation for prayer, Muslims wash certain parts of their body, such as the face and hands, to ensure spiritual and physical purity.

3. The Annual Charity

The annual charity is an obligation on every Muslim who meets certain criteria (e.g. has wealth above a certain threshold). A mere 2.5% of one’s annual wealth is donated to those who are eligible, such as the poor, the needy or travellers. It purifies one’s wealth and carries many benefits for both the giver and the receiver. One benefit is that it reduces the gap between the rich and the poor, ensuring that everyone has their basic needs met.

4. The Annual Fasting

Every year during the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food, drink and sexual relations. It serves as a spiritual purification, nurtures patience and self-restraint, and provides many health benefits. Fasting is obligatory upon every physically and mentally capable mature Muslim. Children, the sick, the mentally unfit, the elderly, menstruating women and travellers are exempt. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are also exempt, if fasting would bring harm to themselves or the child.

5. The Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage to the holy cities in Saudi Arabia must be performed once in a person’s life, if they are physically and financially able. It occurs annually in the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, unifying people of every colour, race, status and age, as they join in worship of the One True God. All pilgrims wear simple and similar clothing, which strip away distinctions of class and culture, so that all stand equal before God. This great journey consists of many components, including sacrifices, travelling and praying at various sites. Such an experience is life altering and humbles a person, making them more patient and thankful, as they realise all of life’s bounties they have taken for granted.

The Concept of Worship

Any action that Allah is pleased with.

Islam’s concept of worship is not restricted to the above mentioned rituals. Worship is an all-inclusive term for those actions that are pleasing to Allah. Everyday activities can become acts of worship by purifying one’s intention and ensuring one’s actions are in line with God’s guidelines. Examples include smiling, being good to one’s neighbours, supporting one’s family, honesty, and even removing rubbish from the road. It should be noted that Allah is not in need of anyone’s worship, rather, we are in need of Him and our worship is for our benefit.

The above mentioned aspects of faith and acts of worship make up the essence of Islam. When practised, Islam fulfils the spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs of all people, and is a practical and rational way of life. Furthermore, it is the only way of life which is accepted by God Almighty, and the only path that leads to Paradise.

Story of Prophet Isa/Jesus (peace be upon him)

In many verses of the Glorious Qur'an Allah the Exalted denied the claim of the Christians that He has a son. A delegation from Nagran came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They began to talk about their claim about the Trinity, which is that Allah is three in one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, with some disagreement among their sects. That is why Allah affirmed in many verses of the Qur'an that Jesus is a slave of Allah, whom He molded in the womb of his mother like any other of His creatures, and that He created him without a father, as He created Adam without a father or a mother.

Allah the Almighty said:

Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham and the family of Imran above the Alamin (mankind and jinns)(of their times). Offspring, one of theo other, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Remember when the wife of Imran said:

"O my Lord! I have vowed to You what (the child that) is in my womb to be dedicated for Your services (free from all worldly work; to serve Your Place of worship), so accept this, from me. Verily, You are the All-Hearer, the All Knowing."

Then when she delivered her (child Mary), she said:

"O my Lord! I have delivered a female child," and Allah knew better what she delivered, - "and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and for her offspring from Satan, the outcast."

So her Lord (Allah) accepted her with goodly acceptance. He made her grow in a good manner and put her under the care of Zechariah. Every time he entered Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), he found her supplied with sustenance.

He said: "O Mary! From where have you got this?"

She said: "From Allah. Verily, Allah provides sustenance to whom He wills, without limit."

Ch 3:33-37 Quran

Allah declared that He had elected Adam (peace be upon him) and the elite of his offspring who obey Allah. Then He specified the family of Abraham (peace be upon him), which includes the sons of Ishmael (peace be upon him), and the family of Imran, the father of Mary.

Muhammad Ibn Ishaaq stated that he was Imran Ibn Bashim, Ibn Amun, Ibn Misha, Ibn Hosqia, Ibn Ahriq, Ibn Mutham, Ibn Azazia, Ibn Amisa, Ibn Yamish, Ibn Ahrihu, Ibn Yazem, Ibn Yahfashat, Ibn Eisha, Ibn Iyam, Ibn Rahba am, Ibn David (Dawud).

Prophet Zakariyah's (peace be upon him) wife's sister had a daughter named Hannah. She was married to Imran, a leader of the Israelites. For many years, the couple remained childless. Whenever Hannah saw another woman with a child, her longing for a baby increased. Although years had passed, she never lost hope. She believed that one day Allah would bless her with a child, on whom she would shower all her motherly love.

She turned to the Lord of the heavens and the earth and pleaded with Him for a child. She would offer the child in the service of Allah's house, in the temple of Jerusalem. Allah granted her request. When she learned that she was pregnant, she was the happiest woman alive, and thanked Allah for His gift. Her overjoyed husband Imran also thanked Allah for His mercy.

However, while she was pregnant her husband passed away. Hannah wept bitterly. Alas, Imran did not live to see their child for whom they had so longed. She gave birth to a girl, and again turned to Allah in prayer:

"O my Lord, I have delivered a female child," and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and her offspring from Satan, the outcast."Ch 3:36 Quran

Hannah had a big problem in reference to her promise to Allah, for females were not accepted into the temple, and she was very worried. Her sister's husband Zakariyah, comforted her, saying that Allah knew best what she had delivered and appreciated fully what she had offered in His service. She wrapped the baby in a shawl and handed it over to the temple elders. As the baby was a girl, the question of her guardianship posed a problem for the elders. This was a child of their late and beloved leader, and everyone was eager to take care of her. Zakariyah said to the elders: "I am the husband of her maternal aunt and her nearest relation in the temple; therefore, I will be more mindful of her than all of you."

As it was their custom to draw lots to solve disagreements, they followed this course. Each one was given a reed to throw into the river. They had agreed that whoever's reed remained afloat would be granted guardianship of the girl. All the reeds sank to the bottom except Zakariyah's. With this sign, they all surrendered to the will of Allah and made him the guardian.

To ensure that no one had access to Mary, Zakariyah built a separate room for her in the temple. As she grew up, she spent her time in devotion to Allah. Zakariyah visited her daily to see to her needs, and so it continued for many years. One day, he was surprised to find fresh fruit, which was out of season in her room. As he was the only person who could enter her room, he asked her how the fruit got there. She replied that these provisions were from Allah, as He gives to whom He wills. Zakariyah understood by this that Allah had raised Mary's status above that of other women.

Thereafter, Zakariyah spent more time with her, teaching and guiding her. Mary grew to be a devotee of Allah, glorifying Him day and night.

Ali Ibn Abi Talib narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"The best of the world's women is Mary (in her lifetime), and the best of the world's women is Khadija (in her lifetime)." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Abu Musa Al-Ashari also narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"May among men attained perfection but among women none attained perfection except Mary the daughter of Imran, and Asiya the wife of Pharaoh, and the superiority of Aisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (an Arabic dish) to other meals."

While Mary was praying in her temple, an angel in the form of a man appeared before her. Filled with

terror, she tried to flee, praying:

"Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."

The angel said: "I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?"

He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: "That is easy for me (Allah): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).'"Ch 19:18-21 Quran

The angel's visit caused Mary great anxiety, which increased as the months went by. How could she face giving birth to a child without having a husband? Later, she felt life kicking inside her. With a heavy heart, she left the temple and went to Nazareth, the city in which she had been born where she settled in a simple farm house to avoid the public.

But fear and anxiety did not leave her. She was from a noble and pious family. Her father had not been an evil man nor was her mother an impure woman. How could she prevent tongues from wagging about her honor?

After some months, she could not bear the mental strain any longer. Burdened with a heavy womb, she left Nazareth, not knowing where to go to be away from this depressing atmosphere.

She had not gone far, when she was overtaken by the pains of childbirth. She saw down against a dry palm tree, and here she gave birth to a son. Looking at her beautiful baby, she was hurt that she had brought him into the world without a father. She exclaimed: "I wish I had died before this happened and had vanished into nothingness!"

Suddenly, she heard a voice nearby: "Grieve not, your Lord has placed a rivulet below, and shake the trunk of this tree, from which ripe dates will fall. So eat and drink and regain the strength you have lost; and be of good cheer, for what you see is the power of Allah, Who made the dry palm tree regain life, in order to provide food for you." For a while she was comforted by Allah's miracle, for it was a sure sign of her innocence and purity.

She decided to return to the city. However, her fears also returned. What was she going to tell the people? As if sharinhis mother's worry, the baby began to speak: "If you meet any person say: 'I have vowed to fast for The Beneficent and may not speak to any human today.'" With this miracle, Mary felt at ease.

As she had expected, her arrival in the city with a newborn baby in her arms aroused the curiosity of the people. They scolded her: "This is a terrible sin that you have committed." She put her finger to her lips and pointed to the child. They asked: "How can we speak to a newborn baby?" To their total amazement, the child began to speak clearly: "I am Allah's servant. Allah has given me the Book, and has made me a prophet, and has blessed me wherever I may be, and has enjoined on me prayers and alms-giving as long as I live. Allah has made me dutiful towards she who had borne me. He has not made me arrogant nor unblessed. Peace unto me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive."

Most of the people realized that the baby was unique, for it Allah wills something, He merely says "Be" and it happens. Of course, there were some who regarded the baby's speech as a strange trick, but at least Mary could now stay in Nazareth without being harassed.

Allah the Exalted revealed:

And mention in the Book (the Qur'an, O Muhammad, the story of) Mary, when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh (angel Gabriel), and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.

She said: "Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."

The angel said: "I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?" He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: "That is easy for Me (Allah): and (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).'"

So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (Bethlehem valley, about four to six miles from Jerusalem). And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"

Then (the babe "Jesus" or Gabriel) cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not! Your Lord has provided you a water stream under you; and shake the trunk of palm tree towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe dates upon you. So eat and drink and be glad, and if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.'"

Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariyya (an unheard mighty thing). O sister (the like) of Aaron (not the brother of Moses, but he was another pious man at the time of Mary)! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor was your mother an unchaste woman."

Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"

He (Jesus) said: "Verily! I am a slave of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; and He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined me prayer, and Zakat, as long as I live, and dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest. And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"

Such is Jesus, son of Mary. (It is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute). It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son (this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that Jesus is the son of Allah). Glorified (and Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, "Be!" - and it is.

Jesus said: "And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allah's Religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)."

Then the sects differed (the Christians about Jesus), so woe unto the disbeliveers (those who gave false witness saying that Jesus is the son of Allah) from the meeting of a great Day (the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).

How clearly will they (polytheists and disbeliveers in the Oneness of Allah) see and hear, the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error. And warn them (O Muhammad) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while now they are in a state of carelessness and they believe not.Ch 19:16-39 QuranIt was said that Joseph the Carpenter was greatly surprised when he knew the story, so he asked Mary: "Can a tree come to grow without a seed?" She said: "Yes, the one which Allah created for the first time." He asked her again: "Is it possible to bear a child without a male partner?" She said: "Yes, Allah, created Adam without male or female!"

It was also said that, while pregnant, Mary went one day to her aunt, who reported that she felt as if she was pregnant. Mary in turn, said that she, too, was feeling as if she was pregnant. Then her aunt said: "I can see what is in my womb prostrating to what is in your womb."

The Jewish priests felt this child Jesus was dangerous, for they felt that the people would turn their worship to Allah the Almighty Alone, displacing the existing Jewish tenets. Consequently, they would lose their authority over the people. Therefore, they kept the miracle of Jesus's speech in infancy as a secret and accused Mary of a great misdeed.

As Jesus (peace be upon him) grew, the signs of prophethood began to increase. He could tell his friends what kind of supper waited for them at home and what they had hidden and where. When he was twelve years old, he accompanied his mother to Jerusalem. There he wandered into the temple and joined a crowd listening to the lecture of the Rabbis (Jewish priests). The audience were all adults, but he was not afraid to sit with them. After listening intently, he asked questions and expressed his opinion. The learned rabbis were disturbed by the boy's boldness and puzzled by the questions he asked, for they were unable to answer him. They tried to silence him, but he ignored their attempts and continued to express his views. Jesus became so involved in this exchange that he forgot he as expected back home.

In the meantime, his mother went home, thinking that he might have gone back with relatives or friends. When she arrived, she discovered that he was not there, so she returned to the city to look for him. At last she found him in the temple, sitting among the learned, conversing with them. He appeared to be quite at east, as if he had been doing this all his life. Mary got angry with him for causing her worry. He tried to assure her that all the arguing and debating with the learned had made him forgot the time.

Jesus grew up to manhood. It was Sabbath, a day of complete rest: no fire could be lit or extinguished nor could females plait their hair. Moses (peace be upon him) had commanded that Saturday be dedicated to the worship of Allah. However, the wisdom behind the Sabbath and its spirit had gone, and only the letter remained in the Jews' hearts. Also, they thought that Sabbath was kept in heaven, and that the People of Israel had been chosen by Allah only to observe the Sabbath.

They made a hundred things unlawful on Saturday even self-defense or calling a doctor to save a patient who was in bad condition. This is how their life was branded by such hypocrisy. Although the Pharisees were guardians of the law, they were ready to sell it when their interests were involved so as to obtain personal gains. There was, for example, a rule which prohibited a journey of more than one thousand yards on the Sabbath day. What do we expect of the Pharisees in this case? The day before, they transferred their food and drink from their homes two thousand yards away and erected a temporary house so that from tthey could travel a further thousand yards on the Sabbath day.

Jesus was on his way to the temple. Although it was the Sabbath, he reached out his hand to pick two pieces of fruit to feed a hungry child. This was considered to be a violation of the Sabbath law. He made a fire for the old women to keep themselves warm from the freezing air. Another violation. He went to the temple and looked around. There were twenty thousand Jewish priests registered there who earned their living from the temple. The rooms of he temple were full of them.

Jesus observed that the visitors were much fewer than the priests. Yet the temple was full of sheep and doves which were sold to the people to be offered as sacrifices. Every step in the temple cost the visitor money. They worshipped nothing but money. In the temple, the Pharisees and Sadducees acted as if it were a market place, and these two groups always disagreed on everything. Jesus followed the scene with his eyes and observed that the poor people who could not afford the price of the sheep or dove were swept away like flies by the Pharisees and Saducees. Jesus was astonished. Why did the priests burn a lot of offerings inside the temple, while thousands of poor people were hungry outside it?

On this blessed night, the two noble prophets John (peace be upon him) and Zakariyah (peace be upon him) died, killed by the ruling authority. On the same night, the revelation descended upon Jesus (peace be upon him). Allah the Exalted commanded him to begin his call to the children of Israel. To Jesus, the life of ease was closed, and the page of worship and struggled was opened.

Like an opposing force, the message of Jesus came to denounce the practices of the Pharisees and to reinforce the Law of Moses. In the face of a materialistic age of luxury and worship of gold, Jesus called his people to a nobler life by word and deed. This exemplary life was the only way out of the wretchedness and diseases of his age. Jesus's call, from the beginning, was marked by its complete uprightness and piety. It appealed to the soul, the inner being, and not be a closed system of rules laid down by society.

Jesus continued inviting the people to Almighty Allah. His call was based on the principle that there is no mediation between the Creator and His creatures. However, Jesus was in conflict with the Jews' superficial interpretation of the Torah. He said that he did not come to abrogate the Torah, but to complete it by going to the spirit of its substance to arrive at its essence.

He made the Jews understand that the Ten Commandments have more value than they imagined. For instance, the fifth commandment does not only prohibit physical killing, but all forms of killing; physical, psychological, or spiritual. And the sixth commandment does not prohibit adultery only in the sense of unlawful physical contact between a man and a woman, but also prohibits all forms of unlawful relations or acts that might lead to adultery. The eye commits adultery when it looks at anything with passion.

Jesus was therefore in confrontation with the materialistic people. He told them to desist from hypocrisy, show and false praise. There was no need to hoard wealth in this life. They should not preoccupy themselves with the goods of this passing world; rather they must preoccupy themselves with the affairs of the coming world because it would be everlasting.

Jesus told them that caring for this world is a sin, not fit for pious worshippers. The disbeliveers care for it because they do not know a better way. As for the believers, they know that their sustenance is with Allah, so they trust in Him and scorn this world.

Jesus continued to invite people to worship the Only Lord, Who is without partner, just as he invited them to purify the heart and soul.

His teaching annoyed the priests, for every word of Jesus was a threat to them and their position, exposing their misdeeds.

The Roman occupiers had, at first, no intention of being involved in this religious discord of the Jews because it was an internal affair, and they saw that this dispute would distract the Jews from the question of the occupation.

However, the priests started to plot against Jesus. They wanted to embarrass him and to prove that he had come to destroy the Mosaic Law. The Mosaic Law provides that an adulteress be stoned to death. They brought him a Jewish adulteress and asked Jesus: "Does not the law stipulate the stoning of the adulteress?" Jesus answered: "Yes." They said: "This woman is an adulteress." Jesus looked at the woman and then at the priests. He knew that they were more sinful than she. They agreed that she should be killed according to Mosaic Law, and they understood that if he was going to apply Mosaic Law, he would be destroying his own rules of forgiveness and mercy.

Jesus understood their plan. He smiled and assented: "Whoever among you is sinless can stone her." His voice rose in the middle of the Temple, making a new law on adultery, for the sinless to judge sin. There was none eligible; no mortal can judge sin, only Allah the Most Merciful.

As Jesus left the temple, the woman followed him. She took out a bottle of perfume from her garments, knelt before his feet and washed them with perfume and tears, and then dried his feet with her hair. Jesus turned to the woman and told her to stand up, adding: "O Lord, forgive her sins." He let the priests understand that those who call people to Almighty Allah are not executioners. His call was based on mercy for the people, the aim of all divine calls.

Jesus continued to pray to Allah for mercy on his people and to teach his people to have mercy on one another and to believe in Allah.

Jesus continued his mission, aided by divine miracles. Some Qur'anic commentators said that Jesus brought four people back from the dead: a friend of his named Al-Azam, an old woman's son, and a woman's only daughter. These three had died during his lifetime. When the Jews saw this they said: "You only resurrect those who have died recently; perhaps they only fainted." They asked him to bring back to life Sam the Ibn Noah.

When he asked them to show him his grave, the people accompanied him there. Jesus invoked Allah the Exalted to bring him back to life and behold, Sam the Ibn Noah came out from the grave gray-haired. Jesus asked: "how did you get gray hair, when there was no aging in your time?" He answered: "O Spirit of Allah, I thought that the Day of Resurrection had come; from the fear of that day my hair turned gray."

Allah the Almighty said:

Remember when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My Favor to you and to your mother when I supported you with Ruh-ul-Qudus (Gabriel) so that you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Torah and the Gospel; and when you made out of the clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission, and you healed those born blind, and the lepers by My Permission, and when you brought forth the dead by My Permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you) since you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbeliveers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'"
And when I (Allah) put in their hearts of the disciples (of Jesus) to believe in Me and My Messenger, they said: "We believe. And bear witness that we are Muslims.

" Ch 5:110-111 Quran

Almighty Allah also revealed:

And He Allah will teach him (Jesus) the Book and Al Hikmah (the Sunna, the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Torah and the Gospel.

And will make him (Jesus) a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's Leave; and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the dead to life by Allah's leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely, therein is a sign for you, if you believe. And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. Truly! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone). This is the Straight Path."

Then when Jesus came to know of their disbelief, he said: "Who will be my helpers in Allah's Cause?" The disciples said: "We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (we submit to Allah)."

Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger (Jesus); so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth, La ilaha ill Allah - none has the right to be worshipped but Allah).

And they (disbeliveers) plotted (to kill Jesus), and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners.Ch 3:48-54 Quran

Jesus continued calling people to Almighty Allah and laying down for them what might be called "the law of the Spirit." Once when standing on a mountain surrounded by his disciples, Jesus saw that those who believed in him were from among the poor, the wretched, an the downtrodden, and their number was small. Some of the miracles which Jesus performed had been requested by his disciples, such as their wish for a "holy table" to be sent down from heaven.

Allah the Exalted said:

Remember when the disciples said: "O Jesus, son of Mary! Can your Lord send down to us a table spread (with food) from heaven?" Jesus said: "Fear Allah, if you are indeed believers." They said: "We wish to eat thereof and to be stronger in Faith and to know that you have indeed told us the truth and that we ourselves be its witnesses."

Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread (with food) that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a festival and a sign from You; and provide us sustenance, for You are the best of sustainers." Allah said: "I am going to send it down unto you, but if any of you after that disbelieves, then I will punish him with a torment such as I have not inflicted on anyone among all the Alamin (mankind and jinn)."Ch 5:112-115 Quran

It was related that Jesus commanded his disciples to fast for thirty days; at the end of it, they asked Jesus to bring food from heaven to break their fast. Jesus prayed to Allah after his disciples had doubted Allah's power. The great table cam down between two clouds, one above and one below, while the people watched. Jesus said: "O Lord, make it a mercy and not a cause of distress." So it fell between Jesus's hands, covered with a napkin.

Jesus suddenly prostrated and his disciples with him. They sensed a fragrance, which they had never smelled before. Jesus said: "The one who is the most devout and most righteous may uncover the table, that we might eat of it to thank Allah for it." They said: "O Spirit of Allah, you are the most deserving."

Jesus stood up, then performed ablution and prayed before uncovering the table, and behold, there was a roasted fish. The disciples said: "O Spirit of Allah, is this the food of this world or of Paradise?" Jesus said to his disciples: "Did not Allah forbid you to ask questions? It is the divine power of Allah the Almighty Who said: 'Be,' and it was. It is a sign from Almighty Allah warning of great punishment for unbelieving mortals of the world. This is the kernel of the matter."

It is said that thousands of people partook of it, and yet they never exhausted it. A further miracle was that the blind and lepers were cured.

The Day of the Table became one of the holy days for the disciples and followers of Jesus. Later on, the disciples and followers forgot the real essence of the miracles, and so they worshipped Jesus as a god.

Almighty Allah asserted:

And remember when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?'" He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right to say. Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All Knower of all that is hidden and unseen. Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: 'Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord', And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things.

(This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world). If you punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, Verily You, only You are the All Mighty, the All Wise."

Allah will say: "This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise) - they shall abide therein forever. Allah is pleased with them and they with Him. That is the great success (Paradise). To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is therein, and He is Able to do all things."Ch 5:116-120 Quran

Jesus went on his mission until vice knew that its throne was threatening to fall. So the forces of evil accused him of magic, infringement of the Mosaic Law, allegiance with the devil; and when they saw that the poor people followed him, they began to scheme against him.

The Sanhedrin, the highest judicial and ecclesiastical council of the Jews, began to meet to plot against Jesus. The plan took a new turn. When the Jews failed to stop Jesus' s call, they decided to kill him. The chief priests held secret meetings to agree on the best way of getting rid of Jesus. While they were in such a meeting, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, Judas Iscariot, went to them and asked: "What will you give me if I deliver him to you?" Judas bargained with them until they agreed to give him thirty pieces of silver known as shekels. The plot was laid for the capture and murder of Jesus.

It was said that the high priest of the Jews tore his garment at the meeting, claiming that Jesus had denied Judaism. The tearing of clothes at that time was a sign of disgust.

The priests had no authority to pass the death sentence at that time, so they convinced the Roman governor that Jesus was plotting against the security of the Roman Empire and urged him to take immediate action against him. The governor ordered thaJesus be arrested.

According to the Book of Matthew, Jesus was arrested and the council of the high priests passed the death sentence upon him. Then, they began insulting him, spitting on his face and kicking him.

It was the Roman custom for the condemned to be flogged before they were executed. So Pilate, the Roman governor, ordered that Jesus be flogged. The Mosaic Law stipulates forty lashes, but the Roman had no limit, and they were brutal lashes. After that, Jesus was handed to the soldiers for crucifixion. They took off his clothes, and kept them. They put a crown of thorns on his head to mock him. According to custom he carried his cross on his back to increase his suffering.

Finally, they reached a place called Golgotha, meaning the Place of Skulls, outside the walls of Jerusalem. Instead of giving him a cup of wine diluted with scent to help lessen the pain on the cross, the soldiers gave Jesus a cup of vinegar diluted with gall. Then they crucified him and, as a further mockery, two thieves with him. So it is written in the Bible.

But the faith of Islam came with views quite different from that of the extend gospels with regards to both the end of Jesus and his nature.

The Glorious Qur'an affirms that Allah the Exalted did not permit the people of Israel to kill Jesus or crucify him. What happened was that Allah saved him from his enemies and raised him to heaven. They never killed Jesus, they killed someone else.

Allah the Almighty declared:

And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah," but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Jesus was put over another man (and they killed that man) and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no certain knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (Jesus, son of Mary): But Allah raised him (Jesus) up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All Powerful, All Wise.

And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews & Christians), but must believe in him (Jesus, son of Mary, as only a Messenger of Allah, and a human being0, before his (Jesus or a Jew's or a Christian's ) death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death). And on the Day of Resurrection, he (Jesus) will be a witness against them.Ch 4:157-159 QuranAlmighty Allah also revealed:

And remember when Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you (of the forged statement that Jesus is Allah's son) of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah ) superior to those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Torah, the Gospel, the Qur'an) till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute."Ch 3:55 QuranAlmighty Allah refuted the claims of the Jews and the Christians in many verses of the Glorious Qur'an.

And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) (as the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son (Christ), and the pagan Arabs say that he has begotten daughters (angels, etc.))."

Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Beneficent (Allah).

But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of ) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). There is non in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender).Ch 19:88-95 QuranAllah the Exalted also declared:

Yet, they join the jinns as partners in worship with Allah, though He has created them (the jinns), and they attribute falsely without knowledge sons and daughters to Him. Be He Glorified! And Exalted above (all) that they attribute to Him. He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything.

Such is Allah, your Lord! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Creator of all things. So worship Him (Alone), and He is the Wakil (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian etc.) over all tings.

No vision can grasp Him, but His Grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Subtle and Courteous, Well-Acquainted with all things.Ch 6:100-103 QuranAlmighty Allah commanded:

O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in you religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, was (no more than ) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be" - and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (It is ) better for you. For Allah is the only One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

The Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave to Allah, nor the angels who are near (to Allah). And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together unto Himself. So, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards, and more out of His Bounty. But as for those who refuse His worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper.Ch 4:171-173 QuranAlmighty Allah also declared:

And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbeliveers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!

They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah) and (they also took as their lord) Messiah, son of Mary , while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded (in the Torah and the Gospel) to worship none but One Ilah (God- Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).Ch 9:30-32 QuranAllah the Almighty also revealed:

Now ask them (O Muhammad): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses?

Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: "Allah has begotten off-spring or children (angels are the daughters of Allah)" And, verily, they are liars!

Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? What is the matter with you? How do you decide? Will you not then remember? Or is there for you a plain authority? Then bring your Book if you are truthful!

And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinn know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts).

Glorified be Allah! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! Except the slaves of Allah, whom He chooses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah).Ch 37:149-160 QuranAnd Almighty Allah declared:

Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say (O Muhammad): "Who then has the least power against Allah, if He were destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things.

And (both) the Jews and Christians say; "We are the children of Allah and His loved ones." Say: "Why then does He punish you for your sins?" Nay, you are but human beings, of those He has created, He forgive whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and to Him is the return of all.

O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) making (things) clear unto you, after a break in (the series of ) Messengers, lest you say: "there came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner." But now has come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a warner. And Allah is Able to do all things.Ch 5:17-19 QuranAllah the Exalted warned:

Surely they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary." But the Messiah (Jesus) said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists, and wrong-doers) there are no helpers.

Surely, disbeliveers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no Ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God- Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbeliveers among them.

Will they not repent to Allah and ask His Forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother (Mary) was a Siddiqah (she believed in the Words of Allah, and His Books. They both used to eat food, as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We made the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away from the truth.Ch 5:72-75 Quran

And Almighty Allah ordered:

And say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has not begotten a son (nor an offspring), and Who has no partner in His Dominion, nor He is low to have a Wali (helper, protector, or supporter). And magnify Him with all the magnificence, (Allahu-Akbar, Allah is the Most Great)."Ch 17:111 Quran)

The pagans once asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "To whom is your Lord related, His original ancestors and His various branches of descendants?" It is also reported that the Jews said: "We worship Ezra, the Son of Allah," and the Christians said: "Jesus is the Son of Allah," and the Magians said: "We worship the sun and the moon," an the Pagans said: "We worship idols." In response to all of them Allah revealed some of His attributes: Unity, Uniqueness, and other substantives:

Say: (O Muhammad): "He is Allah, the One. Allah As-Samad (The Self- Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). He begets not, nor was He begotten; and there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."Ch 112:1-4 Quran
